YOU'VE GOTTEN INTO THE HABIT OF DOING THIS so that his fur won't end up all over the furniture. Like so many dog-related tasks, it's tedious—and nevertheless an act of devotion.
Remember that just as you regularly remove that outer layer of fur, I am also regularly working to remove your unwanted weaknesses, faults, and imperfections.
Because even though my Son Jesus Christ already offered himself for this purpose—washing you clean and making peace by the blood of his cross—the truth is, as a human being you are still imperfect, and the consequences of your mistakes are visible everywhere, just like your dog's fur all over the furniture. Because there is nobody righteous, not even one person, without Me.
This is an opportunity for you to rely on Me more fully, as the One who alone can justify you and de-shed you of your sins.
