"Forgive"

I FORGIVE YOU for the times when you have trusted in your own strength to overcome situations you were never meant to endure alone.

I forgive you for loving other things more than you have loved me. I forgive you for questioning whether I will truly be with you until the end.

I forgive you for turning away neighbors who have wronged.

I forgive you.

Do you hear me? I forgive you.

You have allowed what you believe to be unforgiveable trespasses to keep you from seeking my face. Please, don't turn away from me in shame or regret; you will find no persecution here. My arms are open wide, ready to receive you until myself. There is absolutely nothing you could do that would keep me from you.

I won't ever leave you or forsake you. My gift of love is free and unconditional. The commandment to forgive is not for me, but for you – it creates the opportunity for you to confess with your mouth what is making your heart heavy so that it can be released. Only then, can you truly let me in so that I can abide with you always.

As you go through your day today, do so lightly and with joy, knowing confidently that you have been forgiven.

He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you.
