O God the Father,
You gave the Israelites
Food in the wilderness.
O God the Son,
You said to your people,
"I am the bread of life."
O God the Holy Spirit,
You fill us when we seek
Your guidance.
Your holy Scripture tells us:
Man shall not live by bread alone,
But by every word
That comes from the mouth of God.
Just as I depend on you, O God
To give me my food in due season,
So too does my beloved dog
Depend on this food for survival.
O God, may you always provide for me
As I provide for him.
