Holy God,
What an amazing thing
That just as I brush my own teeth twice a day,
I do the same for my dog.
In some ways, O God,
You have made me and my dog
So similar.
We are both creatures
Who need regular care.
And yet, just as my dog
Cannot brush his own teeth
And depends on me in that regard,
So too do I depend on you
To do the hard work
Of brushing away my sin.
God, thank you for doing that.
Amen.
